European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen again strives to expand her powers. This time she wants to create her own spy agency. According to the Commission, the outfit would make “better operational use of data”, effectively centralizing intelligence and expanding the power of Ursula Von der Leyen. Whereas Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho said that the new unit would only “complement the services of the European External Action Service and play a key role in the preparation of the so-called Security College”.
In reality it will reduce the influence of EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, while strengthening Von der Leyen. This means not only a shift of power inside the EU, where Von der Leyen is gaining more and more absolute power, but also the emergence of a grave danger for every opponent of Globalism and Liberalist rule inside the European Union itself.
The US demands a new division of labour, also in terms of intelligence
It’s especially noteworthy that this move follows Globalist turned US President Donald Trump’s threat to limit security guarantees and intelligence sharing with Europe as well as US-Army troops stationed on European soil.
As a part of the new division of labour between the members of NATO, the United States demand more military spending from it’s European allies – also in terms of intelligence agencies. Furthermore, trust among European governments is vaining, as after Hungary and Slovakia also Czechia joined the populist alliance inside the EU.
Budapest, Prague and Bratislava no longer want to support the war effort in Ukraine and instead focus on combatting domestic issues like inflation. Therefore, just recently espionage allegations were raised against Hungarian prime minister Victor Orban.
Everyone is a “Russian spy”: Why the EU needs a new intelligence agency
In this context the planned intelligence agency also becomes a tool for spying on distrusted member states and creating a “European CIA”, as former Greek minister of finance Yannis Varoufakis stated, in order to suppress dissident voices in the old world as well as for criminalizing ordinary citiziens. Are you against the war in Ukraine? Do you criticize European militarism? Do you oppose Globalization? Chances are high, the new EU institution will keep an eye on you and destroy your private life with allegations of being a “Russian spy”, committing “incitement of hate” or of other Orwellian thought crimes.
Furthermore, with the institution of SIAC (Single Intelligence Analysis Capacity) there is already an agency for collecting intelligence. Therefore, we can only expect a rise in the systematic suppression and criminalization of the anti-Globalist opposition by the new intelligence agency.
