The student factor and the massive social protests in the West

October 21, 2026

To understand what is happening, it is enough to make a simple political reasoning.

2027 represents a crucial electoral appointment for the Old Continent, which can generate a real “turning point“. It is now a fact, for almost all serious geopolitical analysts, that Europe is about to turn to the right. The conservative wave is about to cross it for all its cardinal points: from east to west, from north to south.

And these are not irrelevant EU countries. Political observers and polls point to a potential advance or consolidation of right-wing and right-wing identity parties in four of the most populous countries in the European Union: France, Spain, Germany and Poland, as well as Sweden.

The European left is experiencing a deep crisis from which it is unable to emerge by using the democratic system based on the consensus of the citizens. And when the left fails to win with votes, it tries to win with the streets. It passes from the ballot box to the violence of the barricades. The revolutionary soul of the “Left” emerges, which always remains dormant even when, going into government, it assumes the mask of institutional presentability.

When it is called upon by the citizens to give way to the political forces that oppose it, in the name of democratic alternation, the left is unable to give up power and then triggers the conditioned reflex of the justification of violence in the name of the Marxist principle of class struggle.

This is why the concrete prospect of a political change in Europe makes the whole world of the organized left – parties, trade unions, intellectuals, newspapers, students, cultural foundations, etc. – cry out the ancient and always valid slogan: “Continuons le combat! “.

And this is why, therefore, he feels the irrepressible need to fan the flames of revolt and stir up the streets.

The analysis of the recent youth and student revolts in Europe that are affecting France above all with blockades and clashes in high schools, but which also affect Spain, Italy and Albania for issues such as cuts in education and high rents, therefore takes on a very specific perspective. Behind the façade of student and social hardship hides, in reality, a dangerous convergence of radical left-wing forces, interested in destabilizing public order for electoral purposes.

The reading of the phenomenon is mainly articulated on three points: the political instrumentalization of unease by the radical left; the possible convergences between extremist environments; and the risk of exporting violence. In France, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and La France Insoumise are clearly riding the protests to strengthen their consensus in view of the 2027 presidential elections.

At the same time, the political debate points to possible convergences between radical left-wing groups, extremist Islamist circles and extremist sectors of pro-Palestinian movements. In Italy, the fear is that the so-called “Paris model” will spread to the main cities, favoring clashes, blockades and violent infiltration.

In this regard, just read the headline of a front-page article in the Italian newspaper “Il Manifesto” (which calls itself a “communist newspaper”) on Sunday, October 18, 2026: The beautiful season. Subtitle: Paris calls, other squares in Europe answer. A real apology for the revolt. And episodes of looting, vandalism, violence, urban guerrilla warfare, roadblocks by rioters pampered by the radical left are now the order of the day in Italy.

The absolute priority in the face of this scenario is the restoration of public order and legality. The narrative of “legitimate social protest” must be rejected, and tolerance of looting, roadblocks, occupations and violence against garrisons and police officers must be firmly condemned.

These criminal acts represent a dangerous attack on the established order and public institutions, hatched by those who want to put Europe to the sword.
