Makkah Joint Defence Agreement: A New Era of Collective Deterrence for the Muslim Ummah

The holy city of Makka has witnessed the great deal among Türkiye, Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia which is modest development for the regional stability and strength.

The long-lasting historical and religious relations of these states bring together to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity and build the foundation of shared strategic interests  and collective security for the stability of the region.

The Trilateral Defense pact brings three nations together to share their strategic strengths as Pakistan has invincible military impact, Muslim’s world only nuclear power, war strategic expertise and battle-hardened forces. The Kingdom of Saudia Arabia has strong religious significance with financial depth and energy leverage.

Türkiye has NATO’s second largest conventional military, equipped with advanced defense technology, resilience and industrial capabilities. This Trilateral Defense Agreement is truly based on principles of joint security and collective deterrence but purely promotes the peace. The constructive alliance of three main pillars of Muslim Umaah is based on non-aggressive coalition that works for people’s prosperity and emphasizes collective security.

The Makkah Accord clarifies that any armed attack against ant one of these three states will be considered as attack against all of them which is relevant with right of individual and collective self-defense under Article 51 of the U.N. Charter. This agreement is not a tool of confrontation and not against any specific country.

It is an expression of collective assurance of peace, encouraging collective deterrence against external hostility and improve the capacity to defend our sovereignty, solidarity and mutual respect.

This Trilateral Defense agreement has opened the doors for defense-industrial collaborations as for Ankara, it enlarges defense market to Gulf states and expands its part in regional security architecture.

These three countries can transfer technology, reduce dependence on single supplier and create local production capacity. While the agreement has raised trust on Pakistan who can emphasize political and potential support at the time of war pressure and enhance its portfolio in Gulf states.

After Mark-e-Haq and mediating role in USA-Iran war, Pakistan has emerged as a regional stabilizer. Pakistan’s competent leadership has productive relationship with the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia, Türkiye and others in the region while on the global platform, Pakistan has raised as trusted bridge between regional and global stake holders.

While the leaders of these three countries have capacity to encourage combined diplomacy without compromising national interest, joint military preparedness with strategic constraints and ability to manage the crisis with responsibility.

Pakistan’s economic needs and Türkiye’s industrial desire creates the natural collaboration with Saudi Arabia resources. Whereas, the world has diverse view on the Makkah Accord while this agreemant is not any threat for any one else but ensures security for any external threat if one of these country faces any hazard.

This agreement will open doors for other countries to be the part of this accord and work together for the collective security, peace and prosperity whereas , this accord came into being after uncertainty of US-Iran war in 2026.
