The Bilderberg Club: a supranational power at the expense of the people?

April 16, 2026

Founded in 1954, the Bilderberg Group describes itself in this year’s press release as “an annual conference designed to promote dialogue between Europe and North America.

Every year, between 120 and 140 political and industrial leaders, financiers, academics and the media are invited to participate. About two-thirds of the participants are from Europe and the rest from North America; about a quarter from the world of politics and public administration, the rest from other sectors”.

Meetings are held under the “Chatham House Rule,” which states that attendees are free to use the information received, but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of the speakers or any other attendee. It was not always like this, because at least until 2023 nothing was public and meetings were held in absolute secrecy. The CEO and founder of The Liberty Sentinel, Alex Newman, has been following the Bilderberg Conference for decades with The New American magazine.

Due to the confidential nature of meetings, participants act in a personal capacity and not in an official capacity, and are therefore not bound by the conventions of their office or predefined positions. This way, they can take the time to listen, reflect, and gather insights. There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken and no programmatic statements are made.

The US online media outlet New American claims that the Bilderberg Group is meeting earlier than usual this year. The 72nd meeting of the most influential Western figures was held in Washington DC, April 9-12 at the Salamander Hotel, formerly known as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, at 1330 Maryland Avenue SW, along the Potomac River.

The press release also provides the complete list of participants: here . Writer and political analyst Veronika Kyrylenko says that The New American has long documented the Bilderberg Group as a truly global deep state: a private, highly secretive and uncontrolled coordination forum in which Western elites operate above and beyond national governments in the service of a centralized world order.

One would have to be naïve to believe that Trump’s representatives would show up at this infamous forum to change it from within. After all, deeds speak louder than words. “By their fruits you will know them,” and these fruits are already evident. The alignment is translating into concrete policies in areas such as digital finance, the acceleration of artificial intelligence, healthcare, education, defense, immigration control, government operations, and government identity systems.

It appears that this is the first time that NATO has taken it upon itself to announce a Bilderberg Group meeting before an official online announcement by Bilderberg’s shadowy press office, which communicates only via email, does not list personnel, does not publish phone numbers, but is apparently based in the Netherlands,  where Mark Rutte held the position of prime minister for a record period of 14 years, from 2010 to mid-2024.

Rutte has attended Bilderberg meetings for most, if not all, of these years and has continued to do so even as NATO Secretary General, which has been particularly questioned by the US President. Trump has sent representatives to all Bilderberg Group meetings that have been held during his past and present terms, although some speculate that he is not entirely a Bilderberg ally.

Jim Tucker, a longtime AFP journalist who specializes in Bilderberg, called this annual meeting of the globalist elite emblematic of the illicit and conspiratorial world control of the world economy and governments, a control hidden in plain sight and too often downplayed or ignored by the mainstream media. Yet, some newspapers such as the New York Times and the Washington Post have participated in Bilderberg meetings, rather than following them to make an objective chronicle.

The Liberty Sentinel adds that the future of warfare, Arctic security, digital finance, and conflicts in the Middle East are on the agenda of the Bilderberg Group’s secret meeting. Prominent personalities in attendance include Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and Congressman Jason Smith (R-MO). There are no official Bilderberg “decisions” made known to the public.

Although few Americans are aware of the existence of Bilderberg Group meetings, the impact this meeting has on the world and humanity is undeniable. According to the Bilderberg Group website, “the meeting has one main objective: to promote discussion and dialogue” among the powerful of the Earth.

Will Hutton, former editor of The Observer and a leading figure at Oxford University, attended a Bilderberg meeting and revealed that “[the Bilderberg Conference] is one of the key meetings of the year… But the consensus that is reached constitutes the context in which policies are formulated at the global level”. Before becoming presidents, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama attended Bilderberg. Tony Blair, the former British prime minister, also attended the meeting shortly before coming to power.

Jeffrey Epstein also received advice from his friend Ian Osborne’s consulting firm Osborne to attend Bilderberg to rehabilitate his image after his conviction for pedophilia in 2009. “In our view,” Osborne & Partners wrote to Epstein in a three-page plan, “you should spend time with European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Latin American political and business leaders, some of whom you meet with on a daily basis, but in a more coordinated manner through meetings such as the Ambrosetti Forum, the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, Bilderberg, and the BRICS Summit.”

Emphasizing Epstein’s role in David Rockefeller’s Deep State Trilateral Commission, Osborne compared the two groups: “I see that you are part of the Trilateral Commission and this is in line with the situation. The advantage offered by these meetings compared to private meetings is that they unequivocally demonstrate to all other opinion leaders the unique position you occupy among the international business elite.”

At the European level, Bilderberg’s influence is extreme. In 2005, the state-funded BBC observed: “All recent presidents of the European Commission attended Bilderberg Group meetings before being appointed,” revealing the hidden hand of power wielded by this secret meeting. The press is prohibited from participating and no video footage or photographs are allowed. Participants, invited only upon request, may not publicly mention each other. This, the Bilderberg Group points out, paves the way for “participants to feel free to speak in an atmosphere of trust”.

Other notable participants this year include Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla; the CEO of Palantir, Alex Karp; the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Michael Kratsios; Meta’s head of AI, Alexandr Wang; and U.S. Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer.

To consider it plausible that the big names on the planet meet to have a simple chat with friends on the most topical issues is rather silly, otherwise the secrecy on the issues would not be explained. We are faced with the supranational power par excellence, where at least the general lines are laid down, which governments will have to adhere. The people, of course, will have to welcome the choices of the elite, without batting an eyelid, because they cannot. It would be an absolutely unequal clash. Above all, one wonders about the role of those who, then, support sovereignist positions in their homeland. What game is it playing on the skin of nations?
