“The AGM is the most comprehensive agreement that Mexico has negotiated with the European Union. It brings together trade, political dialogue and cooperation in a single legal instrument, built on shared values and long-term commitments.”
Modernized Global Agreement. A new stage in the bilateral relationship. SRE. Mexico.
We are going to analyze from a vision of the new geopolitics, the Modernized Global Agreement, AGM, between Mexico and the European Union, EU.
We will analyze how the AGM, signed at the National Palace of Mexico, May 26, 2026, by Claudia Sheinbaum, by the President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, CSP, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
The Agreement is posed in geopolitical terms as a strategic counterweight or challenge to Trump’s tariff strategy, America First, MAGA, designed against globalism, the free market and green environmentalism, which has led to the ruin of Europeans, by the pro-democratic leaders of the EU.
To begin with, President Sheinbaum has perfectly defined that Mexico’s future rests on the USMCA, which is in the process of negotiation. U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick says the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is structural and strategic.
Sheinbaum, in the face of pressure and threats from Trump, demanding to extradite narco politicians, allies of terrorist organizations (cartels), has sought allies to be able to negotiate in better conditions. To this end, he went to Barcelona, Spain, to the summit of the Socialist International, denying that the summit and the participating countries were anti-Trump.
Trump’s response is to highlight the corrupt alliance of former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, with Nicolás Maduro and the businesses of PDVESA, plus the criminal organization of the Plus Ultra Case. Zapatero faces trial in Spain.
Again, for President Sheinbaum, the negotiation of the Modernized Global Agreement with the European Union is the search for pure oxygen to be able to negotiate the response to the threats and reach the signing of the USMCA.
We must insist that the failure of the European green ecologist and the voluntarism to turn Mexico into the leader of the green transition is an erroneous response to the new energy matrix. For this reason, the AGM affirms in rhetorical terms its ecological vocation, but surreptitiously proposes to negotiate the critical minerals of Mexico and Latin America, desired by the Europeans, both because of Chinese hegemony in critical minerals, and because of Trump’s strategy of creating a reserve with his allies.
Critical minerals, added to atomic energy, to multiply electricity production, are in turn the sustenance of AI. It is the difference between staying in the past or going safely to the future and reindustrialization, so that Mexico stops being a maquila or merely extractivist, as it is today.
The underlying problem of the future of the AGM is the Democratic political origin of Sheinbaum’s government, based on an alliance with the defeated Kamala Harris. And that of Ursula von der Leyen, EU, as globalist allies of former President Biden’s Democratic party, and of the defeated Kamala Harris.
Trump’s absolute triumph underpins a new geopolitical strategy underway, America First, MAGA. It replaces the failed globalism that liquidated the American Hegemon and dismantled the industrial and working class structure of the United States.
Trump’s MAGA strategy is U.S. geopolitical reconstruction, negotiated at the Trump summits. Putin, Alaska, and Trump-Jinping, in Beijing. That lead to a new energy geopolitics and its agreement to face challenges such as new pandemics; production of food-medicines and water management. We emphasize that the threat of thermonuclear war is canceled.
Mexico is today the geopolitical border of China-North America. The new geopolitical quality of Mexico in the 21st century is the result of the profound geopolitical change produced by both the Trump-Jinping summit and the Jinping-Putin summit. In addition to the emergence of the G5, the United States, Japan, China, Russia and India.
Mexico leaves behind the old geopolitical position of being a bridge between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. And that of the Zimmermann Telegram, with which Mexico enters the geopolitics of energy in the twentieth century. And that costs him the assassination of three presidents, Madero, Carranza and Obregón. And above all, the political instability that Mexico will experience, until the Cárdenas-Roosevelt alliance (Stalin), which produces political reconfiguration and national development, with the expulsion of the pro-Nazi anti-Cristero faction. A situation similar to the current moment that forces the elimination of the Anti-Trump Law, in the failed electoral reform of Pablo Gómez.
Trump, with his MAGA strategy, fights the current American Democratic-European Union alliance of free trade and green, Woke, reissued at the AGM. Aimed at establishing a platform from Mexico in the American hemisphere, which functions as an axis of free trade, based on the elimination of tariffs. The objective is to create with the AGM the bridge of the Atlantic alliance, battered by Trump.
Since Trump warns that Europe is in a process of civilizational destruction. Europe has long lacked a project, it has lost the light that gave it origin as a civilizational culture.
The underlying problem of the so-called Mexican-European alliance is Sheinbaum-Vonder Leyen’s refusal to accept that the democratic globalist world has disappeared. They remain hopeful that Democrats will return to the White House. Clinging to their faith that Trump will lose the midterm and presidential elections. For EU members, it represents a second round, since they were allies of the hybrid electoral coup against Trump that installed, without power, Biden in the White House.
The consummate hybrid electoral coup of the Joe Biden-von der Leyen alliance unleashed the North American hybrid civil war. Although Trump’s triumph stopped it, it is a detonator in the midterm and presidential elections, with consequences of fracturing the American Union and with repercussions in the northern states of Mexico.
We conclude. The geopolitical scope of the Agreement is restricted, both in terms of its anachronistic, “Global Modernized” conceptualization and its impact on MAGA.
The future proposed by the Sheinbaum-von der Leyen Agreement is to continue globalism, in a second stage, but “modernized”.
Let’s look at the underlying problem. If we are generous, beyond the globalist rhetoric insistence, it is posed as an alternative to the geopolitics of Republican President Trump, based on “America First”, MAGA.
To begin with, the Agreement poses a conflict with Trump’s MAGA strategy. Whose origin is that Sheinbaum’s government and Mrs. von der Leyen’s EU are Democrats, that is, political allies of the Democratic Party.
